CPA exam preparation — FAQs
How do I create a CPA exam study plan?+
Under CPA Evolution (since 2024), candidates sit 3 Core sections (AUD, FAR, REG) plus 1 Discipline (BAR, ISC, or TCP). A typical CPA study plan allocates 3–4 months per Core section and 2–3 months for Discipline. The planner lets you add one column per section so you can see all four at a glance.
How many hours to pass all 4 CPA sections?+
AICPA recommends 300–400 total study hours across all 4 sections, but many candidates need 400–600. FAR is historically the most demanding (~120 hours). REG and AUD are moderate (~90–100 each). Discipline depends on which one you pick. Track hours roughly, but track topics done religiously — that's what the CPA planner is for.
What order should I sit the CPA sections?+
Most candidates sit FAR first (it's the hardest, take advantage of early momentum), then AUD or REG second, then the second of those, then Discipline last. This CPA study planner supports any order — just rename column headers or add custom columns to match your sequence.
CPA study planner for working professionals?+
Working professionals typically study 15–20 hours/week and finish all 4 sections in 12–18 months. A planner that survives interruptions is essential — this one saves your plan to localStorage so you never lose progress when life happens. Sign up to sync between your work laptop and home laptop.
Is this CPA planner for AICPA or international CPA?+
This planner supports the US AICPA CPA (CPA Evolution: Core + Discipline). International variants (e.g. CA in India, ACCA in UK, CPA Canada) have different section structures — start from the Custom template and add your own section columns if you're sitting a non-US CPA.
