GRE preparation — FAQs

How do I prepare for the GRE in 3 months?+

A 3-month GRE study plan typically allocates 4 weeks to Quant fundamentals (Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Data Analysis), 3 weeks to Verbal (Reading Comp + Text Completion + Sentence Equivalence), 2 weeks to AWA + mixed practice, and the final 3 weeks entirely to timed mocks and weak-area revision. Drag each topic card across the columns at that pace.

GRE Quant vs Verbal — which should I focus on?+

Depends on your target program. STEM programs often weight Quant heavily (aim 165+). Humanities and business programs often weight Verbal more (aim 160+). The GRE study planner lets you add more Quant cards to 'In Progress' than Verbal, or vice versa, so your plan matches your target.

Is the GRE General Test or Subject Test right for me?+

Most grad programs require the General Test only (that's what this planner targets). Some specific fields (Physics, Psychology, Math, Literature, Chemistry, Biology) may require a Subject Test as well. Check your target programs' requirements before building your plan.

Free vs paid GRE prep — what's the difference?+

Paid GRE courses (Magoosh, Manhattan, Kaplan) are mostly a combination of video lessons, question banks, and a schedule. You can replicate that with official ETS PowerPrep tests (free), a good prep book (Manhattan GRE 5lb), and a structured study planner like this one. Paid courses accelerate slightly; free resources are often enough.

How many official practice tests should I take?+

At least 4: 1 at the start (to find your baseline), 2 in the middle (to measure progress), 1 in the final week (to simulate test day). Add them as cards in your GRE planner — they're the most important progress checkpoints in any study plan.

Frequently asked questions

Is this study planner really free?+

Yes, 100% free. No credit card, no trial, no hidden limits on the planner. You can use it without even creating an account.

Which exams does Gini Planner support?+

JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET UG, CBSE Class 10 Board, and CBSE Class 12 Board. You can also start from a blank custom planner for school tests, university courses, or competitive exams we haven't templated yet.

Can I use this on my phone?+

Yes — the planner is mobile-first. Columns scroll horizontally and cards are tappable. We designed it assuming most students will check their plan on their phone.

How is this different from Notion or Trello?+

Gini Planner is built for Indian students preparing for JEE, NEET, and CBSE. Your board ships pre-loaded with the actual syllabus topics — you don't waste hours setting it up. Plus, when you sign up, each task can link straight into SolveGini's AI math solver and quiz practice.

Does it work for Hindi medium students?+

The interface is in English, but topic names follow the CBSE/NCERT syllabus so they map cleanly to Hindi medium textbooks. You can rename any card to whatever wording suits you.

Do I need to sign up to use it?+

No. Guest mode is fully functional — add tasks, drag cards, track progress. Your plan is saved in your browser. Sign up only when you want to access it from another device or sync with SolveGini's AI features.
